★★★★★
This is a ‘one-stop shop’ for anyone wanting an introduction to the beautiful world of Kandyan dance. As a second generation Sri Lankan, I found this book insightful and enlightening and it taught me a lot about a culture I thought I already knew quite a bit about… It is beautifully illustrated and highly interactive; the stories have engaged my 5 year old daughter and she loved colouring the dancers at the back of the text. This book has inspired us both to continue to pursue Kandyan dancing and is a wonderful celebration of an amazing art form. Congratulations to the author and illustrator!
